Cold and Snow in the forecast in Bergland for the next week

Weather: Cold and Snowy

Trail Conditions:Very Good for the most part

A warm up coming Friday, the temp is supposed to hit 24 degrees, then back down for another week.  Snow is in the forecast too for a while. Nothing big but snow possibilities just about everyday.  Except for the low temps conditions should be awesome.  I would say we got a good 2-3 inches yesterday, it is hard to say, it was blowing pretty good.  Traveling on the Lake yesterday, and especially last night was not too fun.  In fact it was pretty dangerous.

The Walleye Lodge’s Ice Fishing Tournament is this weekend, the after party will be at the Bar Sunday starting at 1pm.  I will be full of fishermen for 2-3 hours so I won’t be cooking until later on Sunday. Click for details  Ice Fishing TournamentAd7

Three mischievous old Grandmas were sitting on a bench outside the nursing home when an old Grandpa walked by. One of the old Grandmas yelled out, ‘Hey, we bet we can tell exactly how old you are!’

The old man said, ‘There is no way you can guess my age!

One of the Grandmas said, ‘Sure we can! Just drop your pants and
underpants and we can tell your exact age.’

Embarrassed, but anxious to prove they couldn’t do it,
he dropped his drawers.

The Grandmas asked him to first turn around a couple of times and then jump up and down several times. Determined
to prove them wrong, he did it. Then they all said in unison,’You’re 87 years old!’

Standing with his pants down around his ankles, the old gent asked, ‘How in the world did you guess my age?’

Slapping their knees and grinning from ear to ear, the three old ladies happily crowed…..

‘We were at your birthday party yesterday.’

Princess (and beefs) return to Bergland

Weather: Cold the next few days with chances of a little snow

Trail Conditions: Bundle up, but the trails are well worth it

Conditions are great out there, low traffic, an inch or two of snow a day and cold temps to keep the trails hard.  Conditions are great, for the most part, I heard of a few rough trails but hopefully that is all taken care of today.

Beef came in at 6:30 last night……..

The boys from Manteno Illinois were in last night and I think they had a pretty good time, they all even kept their sleds above the ice this year.

Princess came back in last night with Jenny to reclaim her crown, we had a good time, my fricken camera had the flash shut off, we’ll get better pictures tonight maybe

Trails in the Western UP are great, BBB out of Beef

Weather: Cold with snow in the forecast

Trail conditions: Only complaint was 13 going into Rockland

All riders reporting great trails except for the second half of 13 going into Rockland.  We have cold temps hanging around for a while with snow in the forecast.  Traffic has picked up some but the trails are not getting beat like they were last year at this time.  Conditions are as good as they get, but bundle up, it is cold out there.  Get your asses up here………

Thank you Kim for telling me to use Siri on the lost locked iPhone, the owner couldn’t believe how I found him.  He was very happy.

Congrats to everyone who ordered beefs since last Friday, you successfully ran me out as of last night.  This is the first time I think I ran totally out.

Here is a cool video, looks like both rider and deer were OK.

Kristie had her baby

Lost Phone and Dave comes Home

FOUND iPhone 5 at the bar……Call me, it was left probably Thurs or Friday.  I would call you but the damn lock is on.

Weather: Another inch or so, and cold temps this week

Trail Report: A little soft but generally pretty good shape

Riders are reporting loose trails.  That;s what a foot of LES does for the trails.  It looks pretty but truthfully a two inch wet snow is a lot better for the trails.  A little bit of snow and cold temps should get the trails hard and smooth again.

I am posting an email from Dave, my friend that was hit by the truck on Military Hill last week.  He is back at their house in Merriweather, healing up some before they drive back to Iowa.

Tom
It’s Dave at Da Shack. Just wanted to say thank you for your posts and prayers. And thanks for stopping by.
You spend your whole year working you’re ass off to go on vacation. Saving money & planning everything. Then in a freak moment, it’s all gone! A truck runs you over! I don’t know why and I may never know. I appreciate you setting everyone straight that I was no crazy snowmobiler! I was just sitting there at the stop sign on the snowmobile trail! Snowmobilers have enough bad press as it is so thanks for setting the story straight!
I want to say thank you to EVERYONE that helped me! The Ontonagon first responders/ambulance, the Ontonagon hospital staff,  the flight crew, the Marquette ambulance crew, the Marquette hospital staff, and especially the surgeons who tell me that most people with my injuries are called Donors because they don’t survive.
Thank you to you and Becker for your friendship! Your emails &  posts allowed many people to send prayers and give my wife comfort in the days that I was totally out of it in the hospital. This means more to me than you know!
I’m looking forward to next season!
Thanks again!
Dave Fisher

Snowmobiler comes home after being hit by car

Weather: Mild temps, snow on the way

Trail Conditions: A little tore up

First off and most important, the snowmobiler who was hit by a car on Military Hill last week is doing good, he came home from the hospital yesterday. Thank you everyone for keeping Dave in your thoughts and prayers, it worked.

The trails got a little tore up later in the day yesterday from what I am told. We did have a lot more sleds around the last few days.  The groomers should be out today getting things back in shape, but there are still a lot of people around, and we have warmer temps today, so don’t expect miracles, you’ll probably find some beat up trails.

I got a compliment from a guy in the bar two days ago, he told me that he has traveled the world over and not had a sandwich as good as my Italian Beef.  I am not saying this to brag, I just hope he reads this so I can apologize, I was busy and had a few things going through my head and I didn’t really thank him like I should have. That was the best compliment I have received.

The coming week has snow in the forecast, so get your asses up here, conditions are going to be great this week…………..

Over a foot of Snow in Bergland yesterday

Weather: We got a foot or more of LES yesterday

Trail Conditions: Very good

First off I have a request from the groomers……… When the groomer pulls off the trail to let your group go by, signal him when you are the last sled in line.  They do not like pulling on and off the trail just because you are to fricken lazy to signal them.  It is good to keep the groomers happy. (Buy them a beer if you see them in a bar)

We received about a foot, maybe more in places of LES yesterday.  It looked pretty but it is not the same as system snow, but it sure looks fun. And it does help out some on the trails and it covers up the nasty brown stuff from the sand they use on the roads.  It is also nice for boon docking, but know where you are going if you go off trail.  Riders said they had a blast yesterday, some came in all covered in white fluffy snow.  Conditions are as good as they get, come on up and enjoy the fun.

Kristie’s last day is today, so come on in and wish her a good bye……. (she will be back at the end of March)

I know you  have been laying awake at night wondering why baby diapers
have brand names such as “Luvs”, “Huggies,” and “Pampers’, while
undergarments for old people are called “Depends”.

Well here is the low down on the whole thing.

When babies crap in their pants, people are still gonna Luv’em,
Hug’em and Pamper em.

When old people crap in their pants, it “Depends” on who’s in the will!

Bergland finally gets Snow

Weather: Snow, not sure how much 6 to 10 maybe more

Trail Conditions: Excellent yesterday I was told by riders

I’m not sure how much snow we got overnight, it looks like 5 or 6 out the back door but on Porkie in the front yard it looks like a foot. I won’t know for sure until I start plowing.  Riders yesterday in the bar said conditions were excellent.  Many more snowmobilers were in the bar yesterday, maybe our season has finally started and I can stop whinning LOL.  Saturday is Kristie’s last day so stop by and wish her well with her new baby on the way.  18 years from now I will have a new bartender named Aubrey. I wanted to name her Tomasina but I was out voted.

We got the snow we needed so get your asses up here……

Snow in Bergland Finally?

Weather: About an inch, more on the way

Trail Conditions: Very Good

First of all thanks for all the prayers for Dave the snowmobiler that was hit by the car earlier this week.  He is improving but has a pretty long road ahead of him.  Please keep him in your prayers.  Man who would think something like that could happen when you are sitting on the side of the road waiting for traffic to go by.

Trails are good and we received about an inch over night it looks like.  Forecast looks promising for today and the next week and a half ahead for more snow too. Traffic has been very light so there is not many sleds up here to tear up the trails, so why don’t you come up and give the groomers some grief.  Three day weekend this weekend so we will see if business improves.  I got a whole lot of beef in the freezer and I dare you to try and run me out LOL.  Kristie’s last day is Saturday, so stop on in and see her off.

The year was 1947. Some of you will recall that on July 8, 1947 , a little more than 66 years ago, numerous witnesses claim that an Unidentified Flying Object, (UFO), with five aliens aboard, crashed onto a sheep and mule ranch just outside Roswell , New Mexico .
This is a well-known incident that many say has long been covered-up by the U.S. Air Force, as well as other Federal Agencies and Organizations.
However, what you may NOT know is that in the month of April, year 1948, nine months after the historic day, the following people were born:
Barrack Obama Sr.
Albert A. Gore, Jr.
Hillary Rodham
William J. Clinton
John F. Kerry
Howard Dean
Nancy Pelosi
Dianne Feinstein
Charles E. Schumer
Barbara Boxer
Joe Biden
This is the obvious consequence of aliens breeding with sheep and jack-asses.
I truly hope this bit of information clears up a lot of things for you. It certainly did for me.
And now you can stop wondering why they support the bill to help all Illegal Aliens.

Iowa Snowmobilier Hurt in Accident

Hey people i need your help.  Today is the second time since I have been doing this trail report that I really do not give a shit about trail conditions or trying to entertain those of you that read my site.  I guy I know from Iowa, Dave Fisher, was the person who was hit by a truck on Military Hill Monday night. He was sitting on the trail waiting to cross the hwy. A truck left the roadway and hit him head on in the snowmobile trail. He was air flighted to marquette where he had surgery to repair a tear to his aorta in his heart. He remains in ICU there.  The family is asking to keep Dave in your prayers as he is going to have a long recovery.

This is the part of owning the bar and becoming friends with you people that really sucks.  It really hurts when I hear of one of you getting hurt.

Be careful out there and please keep Dave and his family in your prayers.
